Gender Relationship Expert Zhang Xinyuan Travels to the Czech Republic for Further Studies and Discusses New Health Trends with International Experts

In September 2025, Zhang Xinyuan, the founder of Vmi Happiness and a renowned gender relationship expert, was invited to Prague, the Czech Republic, to embark on an in-depth study tour of sexology and healing. During this trip, she not only visited the Czech National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ), a leading European center for sex neuroscientific research and clinical intervention, to systematically learn about the cutting-edge research findings in sexology but also unexpectedly encountered a local “pro-life movement” booth on the streets. This journey, which combined academic depth with real-world encounters, gave her a more comprehensive understanding of sexual civilization and women’s health rights.

Visiting the Czech National Institute of Mental Health

Decoding Sexual Health with Science and Data

As an expert with 17 years of experience in women’s health and gender relationships, Zhang Xinyuan’s core destination for this study tour was the Czech National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ), known as a benchmark for European sexology research. This institution, which focuses on “sex neuroscientific research and clinical intervention,” has built a complete system from basic research to social services and served as the main venue for this study tour.

Inside the institute, Zhang Xinyuan attended in-depth courses by five experts alongside other participants, covering everything from macro data to micro techniques and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the rigorous logic behind Czech sexology research. Dr. Ellen Zakreski, a neuroscience PhD from McGill University in Canada, presented “Czech Sexual Behavior Research: National Survey Data,” which statistically analyzed sexual behavior frequency and satisfaction based on a large sample size and further explored sensitive issues such as sexual violence and online sexual behavior. “These numbers represent real individual struggles, and they help me better understand the social context in which domestic women ‘dare not speak,'” said Zhang Xinyuan.

In Professor Jim Pfaus’s sex neurosciences segment, researchers revealed the mechanisms of dopamine encoding sexual desire and the reshaping of neural circuits by sexual experience through brain imaging and biofeedback experiments. Zhang Xinyuan noted in the discussion, “Discussing the mechanisms of desire within a scientific framework helps break down cultural stigmas and cognitive misconceptions.”

Encountering the Pro-Life Movement on the Streets of Prague

Confronting the Reality of Sexual Health Awareness

Stepping out of the academic setting, the real-world controversy on the streets of Prague formed a stark contrast. In the city’s central square, a booth set up by a pro-life organization attracted widespread attention. Next to the eye-catching slogan “Global Genocide” on the display board were images of embryonic development, and the organizers used comparisons with historical events like the Holocaust to amplify their message.

Observations at the scene revealed occasional heated debates in front of the booth. Supporters argued that “the fetus has an independent right to life,” while opponents emphasized “women’s right to bodily autonomy,” with the clash of these two viewpoints being quite intense. “This made me realize that sexual health is not just a scientific issue but also a deeply intertwined social issue with culture and ethics—under different contexts, the definition of ‘women’s rights’ can vary greatly,” she said.

Such public confrontational discussions are not uncommon in the Czech Republic. According to experts from the institute, the country has always had a diversity of voices colliding on sexual health issues.

Building a Social Support System

Comprehensive Coverage of Professional Assistance and Mind-Body Practices

It is worth noting that the Czech Republic has established a relatively comprehensive sexual health support system. The SexHelp sexual health hotline, set up by the institute, provides professional support to those in need. Dr. Kateřina Potyszová introduced in the course that individuals who perceive their sexual preferences or behaviors may harm others can seek professional help from the institute.

“For those at risk of harming others, we adopt a ‘detention + treatment’ approach,” said institute experts. “This model regulates behavior while providing psychological intervention.” In addition, the institute has also launched practical courses such as body workshops, which help participants reconnect with their bodies through breathing, tactile, and other exercises. This mind-body integration approach offers new ideas for the field of sexual health.

Reflecting on this trip to Prague, Zhang Xinyuan’s greatest insight was that “sexual health issues need both the support of scientific research and a humanized way of expression.” She said she would bring the knowledge and concepts she learned back to her work in China. “Especially in helping women establish a scientific view of sexual health, we can do more.”

As night fell, Zhang Xinyuan stood on Charles Bridge. The river below flowed quietly, much like the topic of sexual health, which requires both the courage for open discussion and the wisdom for rational thinking. This trip to Prague has further convinced her that finding a balance between science and humanities is the right path to advancing the cause of sexual health.

How to build a bridge of communication between science and ethics, personal freedom and social consensus, remains a proposition that global societies, including China, need to continue exploring.
